Eilert Ecology Club

Ecology Club

Named after our beloved Br. Larry Eilert, SJ, this club promotes and manages ecology programs within the school: to honor God's purpose in our treatment of God's creation.

Dear Brother Eilert, may you rest in eternal peace, and know that what you planted here at Rockhurst continues to grow and bloom.

Club Activities.

Our recycling program is a joint effort among the Eilert Ecology Club, Library, and Maintenance Department. We recycle paper, corrugated cardboard, plastic bottles made from PET and HDPE, aluminum cans, cell phones, and printer ink cartridges.

As required, and especially during the month of April, the club sponsors activities that foster environmental stewardship and sustainable living.

Meetings are held as required, usually on Tuesdays during activity period, in Room 112.

The Eilert Ecology Club encourages students to become leaders in sustainable living as our species tests the limits of earth's biosphere. For a broader perspective on earth's capacity for life, see the World Wildlife Fund's Living Planet Report for 2006.

All that I am and all that I possess You have given me: I surrender it all to You to be disposed of according to Your will.
